Creativity and exploration have forever been intertwined, and for all our cultural inventions, music and song have always been part of our journeys. Interplanetary Records' Mission is to inspire the next generation of artists and creators to make a difference: to create new music, touch people's hearts, and inspire them to action.
Interplanetary Records is named in honour of the Interplanetary Spacecraft that have explored our solar system. NASA's Pioneer 10 and Voyager I & II spacecraft have always been particularly inspiring to Chris.
Dr. Chrispy (AKA Chris Boshuizen) is an award-winning aeronautical engineer-turned sound engineer and songwriter, who has spent the last 15 years tragically torn between two loves: space exploration and music. Chris worked at NASA developing lunar landers, and later started his own aerospace company, Planet, launching over 200 spacecraft into space to map the global environment every day. All the while, he spent every spare minute writing music, producing his own tracks, and decoding contemporary sound engineering. Having spent years writing synthwave and ambient instrumentals, Chris decided to pursue music full time, and with a new-found thirst for contemporary EDM/Pop, Dr. Chrispy was born. He runs a home studio in San Francisco, and created Interplanetary Records to share his expertise and help other artists become successful.
As Dr Chrispy, Chris just released his debut synthwave album "VHS" to critical acclaim. In 2014 Chris won the Advance Global Austrailan Award for being the greatest Australian not living in Australia. Learn more about Chris's space projects at his website, and more about his music at DrChrispy.com.
